A note from our 2021 Chair of Judges
As President of The Marketing Society I am proud to invite you to enter The Marketing Society Awards 2021. Marketing is an ever-evolving industry and we must adapt and develop to keep ahead - How brave do we need to be to guide our teams and business into the future? Our world is constantly changing and we must find new solutions to the global challenges that all our organisations face.
Our Awards will recognise those that are leading the way in this new marketing world either as individuals, through the campaigns they produce or the new and creative solutions they put in place to achieve results. We are still looking for effectiveness and marketing excellence; all marketing activity should be effective - that is our day job - but what we really want to see are your exceptional marketing stories that truly demonstrate brave leadership in action.
The judges will be a highly experienced group of marketing practitioners and I am honoured to be leading the panel through the process for the third year in a row. Entries close on 26 February 2021 and I am really looking forward to reading your stories.

This year our panel of esteemed judges will be led by Syl Saller President, The Marketing Society, former Diageo CMO & Chair of Judges. We will be adding more judges in the coming weeks and you can view our archive of judges here.
Syl joined Diageo in 1999 from Allied Domecq Retail where she was Marketing Development Director. She started her career in brand management with Gillette. Syl graduated from Harvard Business School and is married with two children. She has been President of The Marketing Society since 2017.
Group Director - Reputation & Brand Governance
Raj joined Aviva in 2013 as head of marketing and is currently the group reputation and brand governance director, he is obsessed with building and protecting Aviva’s brand and reputation. Raj is a board trustee at the Princes’ Teaching Institute.
Head of Marketing, GBS, Europe
Trevor is the Head of Marketing, GBS, Europe, leading a function that consists of Creative Lab, B2B Marketing and Comms, Brand Strategy and Creator Monetisation. Trevor joined TikTok from Facebook / Instagram, which he joined in 2008 as one of Facebook's first employees outside of the US.
Brand Development Director, UK and EMEA
Radha Davies is an experienced marketing leader with over 25 years’ experience gained across multiple industries. Having started her career at Diageo, Radha has worked on a number of global brands such as Bailey’s, Smirnoff and Johnnie Walker in domestic and international roles.
Natalie is the CMO, Asia at Mercer. Natalie is responsible for the strategic delivery of marketing capabilities across 11 markets in Asia; driving demand generation, revenue growth and client centric partnerships, as well as positioning the Mercer brand prominently across the region.
Rebecca is CMO at Octopus Energy, a multi-award-winning energy tech supplier with over 3/4 million customers across the UK. Octopus is tech-led and digital first with product, marketing, and customer service. From a utilities background, she was previously a head of product at Centrica-funded Hive.
Strategy and Marketing Director
Müller UK and Ireland
Michael started his career at P&G where he worked on their hugely successful range of hair care. After more than seven years he moved to Nestle in 2007, before joining Müller in early 2012 as Marketing and R&D Director. Since then, he's been a driving force behind the revitalisation of the Müller brand.
UK Sales & Marketing Director
Sara is sales and marketing director for Merlin entertainment where she is tasked with building and delivering the product, brand, sales & marketing strategy for Merlin’s indoor attractions.
George sits on the board and looks after all aspects of marketing and customer relations. He arrived from the Post Office, where he spent three years as commercial director, a role he previously held at British Airways. Prior to that he worked at Bupa and began his career at Cadbury.
Mahmood is the Chief Administration Officer for Group Marketing at HSBC. He has global responsibility for leading the marketing planning process, developing the global marketing plan, and the oversight of all marketing investment and people resources.
Prior to Thinkbox Lindsey had roles at advertising agencies including McCann Erickson and J Walter Thompson, working on some of the industry’s biggest clients and most famous TV-advertised brands. She's a Fellow of the Society, member of MGGB and a recent President of WACL.

Birds Eye UK
Steve is the GM of Birds Eye UK, the brand leader in UK Frozen Foods, encompassing the Birds Eye, Aunt Bessie’s and Goodfella’s brands. He has spent over 20 years in the FMCG industry, starting his career at Unilever. In 2019, he was named in Campaign’s Power 100, as well as in Marketing Week’s Top 100 Most Effective Marketers.
Global CMO - Consumer Healthcare
Tamara has 25 years industry experience working with brands, including her time at Unilever where her most recent role was EVP of Personal Care North America building purpose-driven brands such as Love Beauty & Planet, Dove, Axe, Tresemme and Vaseline.
The Marketing Society
Her most recent role has been as CEO of The Caffeine Partnership, a unique business consultancy which helps leaders to work with purpose and pace, where she has worked with impatient business leaders across the world. In July 2020 Sophie became the new CEO of the Society, a global community of senior marketers.
EVP and MD
Kathleen Saxton is a London-based EVP and MD at MediaLink, who leads the firm’s operations in EMEA. An industry veteran with 25+ years of experience in sales, marketing, media and executive search, her remit is wide-ranging and spans business growth, agency selection, talent advisory and strategic consulting.
A global thought leader in leadership and strategy, innovation and marketing. Peter is also a bestselling author, expert consultant and keynote speaker, and helps business leaders to develop innovative strategies for business and brands. He leads GeniusWorks, a future business accelerator.
Marks & Spencer
Nathan had his first taste of consumer marketing at Red Bull, first whilst at University and then continuing to work for Red Bull as a Regional Brand Manager. He's currently Marketing Director, Clothing and Home at M&S. Prior to moving to M&S he was European Marketing Manager at Birds Eye Iglo Group.
VP, Global Pampers Upstream Innovation
Andy has worked in FMCG throughout his career, mainly in product management and marketing. He specialises in digital and has led a business with turnover of $250m. He's a member of P&G's “Brand Mastery Society” a group considered by P&G to be their best marketers.
I have worked for the last 20 years for different companies (HP, Henkel and Mondelez), industries (tech, personal care, food), and functions (sales, marketing). I'm currently Sales Director at Mondelez International, one of the world's largest snacking companies, that includes brands like Cadbury, Oreo and Toblerone.
Nishma is responsible for leading brand and reputation marketing for Google UK. From the infamous Google Doodles, showing how Google’s products help you in your everyday life, to helping businesses and individuals grow via free digital skills training and mentoring, and promoting Google’s products to keep families safe online.
