Caroline Taylor, IBM

Caroline Taylor is vice president of marketing, communications & citizenship for IBM UK & Ireland. Based in London, Caroline is responsible for the strategy and delivery for both IBM’s brand & reputation and its sales pipeline development, leading a team across all aspects of go to market strategy and execution; including market segment management, marketing communications, public relations and corporate social responsibility. Caroline also holds executive responsibility for Gender Diversity at IBM in the UK & Ireland.

Previously at IBM, Caroline spent 2 years as vp of marketing for IBM’s SMB organisation, 3 years as director of marketing for IBM’s consulting services division and 8 years as a senior marketing manager, in IBM’s software and systems divisions.

Caroline joined IBM in 1997, following 6 years in the independent software sector in sales and marketing roles. Prior to building her career in the technology sector, Caroline spent 8 years working in fine wine retail, including building and running her own mail-order wine business.

Caroline is a director and trustee of the Oasis Community Trust and one of its subsidiary charities, Stop the Traffik (which coordinates a global coalition against the modern day slave trade). Caroline also sits on the board of Into Somerset, the inward investment body for the county of Somerset.

Caroline’s personal passion for environmental issues has resulted in her contributing to the development of IBM’s sustainability go to market strategy; leading this for IBM Northeast Europe for 3 years, and most recently leading IBM’s partnership with ‘Start’, the sustainability initiative led by HRH The Prince of Wales.
