Mahmood Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer, Marketing, HSBC

Mahmood is the Chief Administration Officer for Group Marketing at HSBC.  He has global responsibility for leading the marketing planning process, developing the global marketing plan, and the oversight of all marketing investment and people resources. 

Prior to this he was the Chief Operating Officer for Global B2B Marketing a role which incorporated all aspects of strategic marketing planning and marketing performance, as well as operational control and governance. Previous to his time in Global Marketing, Mahmood was Head of Business Performance for the Commercial Banking Business. 

He has also undertaken roles in Group Audit, Asset Finance and Global Banking. Mahmood is a Fellow of the Marketing Society and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and worked in the auditing and accounting profession before joining HSBC.
Outside of work Mahmood enjoys watching most sports, particularly cricket, rugby union, tennis and football.  He has a real passion for photography, film and the theatre and plays squash regularly.
